Call time at the Staging Location- 
Manhattan Beach Boulevard east of Prairie Avenue
 (see map below): 8:15 am

NOTE: Please take your instruments home FRIDAY after school if possible.

Call time at the band room for pick up large instruments: 8:00 am

Note: Alondra Park [3850 Manhattan Beach Blvd, Lawndale, CA 90260], is a good landmark to set your GPS to, but be careful for the street closures.

Uniforms will be handed out on Thursday night, after Pops Concert. If they aren’t picked up Thursday evening , they can take them home on Friday after school.

STUDENTS PLEASE HANG UP YOUR UNIFORMS NEATLY AT HOME WITHOUT GARMENT BAG TO LET THE UNIFORM DRY AND AIR OUT.

STUDENTS WILL TURN IN UNIFORMS NEATLY HANGED AND IN THEIR GARMENT BAGS ON MONDAY MORNING, May 1st, DURING ZERO PERIOD

Band Room will be open Saturday morning at 8 am, and close at 8:30am for students to pick up their larger instruments. Need a parent volunteer to be at the Band Room from 8 am to 8:30 am so Mr. Vizcarra can get to the staging location to meet the kids. PLEASE TRY TO BRING HOME YOUR INSTRUMENTS ON FRIDAY AFTER SCHOOL.

If you are transporting large instruments please get a RED PARKING PASS from Mr. Vizcarra at the band room — it will get you closer to the parade route to drop off the kids and their instruments.

Red Vehicle Entry Pass: Participant Drop-Off Pass for Non Parade Vehicles: Enter at Crenshaw Boulevard and Manhattan Beach Boulevard only. This pass will allow one car per pass to enter the street closure area and drop off parade participants at Doty Avenue and Manhattan Beach Boulevard. Parade participants will be a short walk from the staging area. Once parade participants have been dropped off, please make an immediate U-turn and exit east at Crenshaw Boulevard and Manhattan Beach Boulevard and proceed to the designated parking area. Vehicles shall not travel west of Doty Avenue for any reason and may be cited if in violation.

All vehicles with a Red Vehicle Entry Pass, after dropping off parade participants at Manhattan Beach Boulevard and Doty Avenue, shall utilize the designated parking area on the east side of Prairie Avenue north of Redondo Beach Boulevard adjacent to the golf course parking lot which can be entered through the Redondo Beach Boulevard and Prairie Avenue street closure. ‘ Those who park in this area will be a short walk away from the parade staging area. This parking area can be easily reached by exiting the parade area onto Crenshaw Boulevard south and proceeding south on Crenshaw Boulevard, making a right hand turn onto Redondo Beach Boulevard and continuing west to Prairie Avenue, and finally making a right hand turn on Prairie Avenue and parking along the east side of Prairie Avenue outside of the street closure area. Those choosing to not drop off parade participants in the Manhattan Beach Boulevard and Doty Avenue street closure area may proceed directly to the designated parking area on 5 Prairie Avenue. Once again, it is a very short walk from the designated parking area to the staging area.

ALL INSTRUMENT CASES MUST BE LEFT IN THE CAR.

Important DROP OFF information: 
Call time at the staging area is 8:15 am. There will be no busses to the parade. You must be dropped off at PARKING LOT F of El Camino College off of Redondo Beach Blvd street entrance. Drive through the parking lot and drop off at the end nearest Manhattan Beach Blvd. and then WALK up to the staging area on Manhattan Beach Blvd and Prairie Avenue.

The parade will begin at the intersection of Manhattan Beach Boulevard and Prairie Avenue. The parade will proceed west on Manhattan Beach Boulevard to Hawthorne Boulevard, making a right hand turn onto northbound Hawthorne and continuing to Marine Avenue. The parade will then make a right hand turn onto Marine Avenue and continue east on Marine Avenue to Prairie Avenue, and finally making one final right hand turn onto Prairie Avenue and finishing at Manhattan Beach Boulevard and Prairie Avenue where it all began. The parade route is approximately 2.2 miles in length; those walking will certainly get some exercise!

Please join us on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. for the annual Lawndale Youth Day Parade – a tradition in Lawndale for several decades.

Come and support the youth of Lawndale and the surrounding communities and see all of the marching bands, community organizations, school groups, classic cars and many of the other participating groups.

Seating areas available at any place along the route on Manhattan Beach Blvd., Hawthorne Blvd., Marine Avenue and Prairie Avenue. Bring your lawn chairs, cameras, suntan lotion and some snacks and cheer on the parade participants!
